Conjunctivitis (commonly known as pinkeye) is the inflammation of the thin lining on the inside of the eyelid. It can be caused by Viruses, Bacteria and/or Allergies. Pinkeye can be especially dangerous in babies as it can cause them to lose their vision.
Once contracted, the patient may notice that there eye is swollen and a thick yellow crust has formed on their eyelid. If your eye appears swollen, please contact you doctor right away.
